Brazilian Defense Minister arrives on an official Visit to Angola today

(nsnbc) Brazilian Defense Minister Luís Nunes Amorin, will arrive on a 48 hour visit in Angola today, 18 February 2013, to reinforce the two countries bilateral relations and friendship. In 2012 Brazil and Angola signed a comprehensive defense agreement. Brazil was one of the first countries to recognize Angola after its independence in 1975.

celso amorinnsnbc archiveThe two countries, led by Angola´s Defence Minister Cândido Pereira dos Santos Van-Dúnem and Brazil´sDefence Minister Celso Luís Nunes Amorin, will assess progress in the two countries defense cooperation and discuss initiatives to further strengthen bilateral relations. Angola´s Defense Minister Pereira will receive his Brazilian counterpart with military honors at the Angolan Ministry of Defense in Luanda. The Ministers will hold meetings with representatives of the Armed Forces of Angola (FAA), before visiting the Luanda naval base. The official talks will end on Tuesday after signing a final document and issuing a press release.
